The reality of running a home for children is that the cost of doing so never stays the same. The cost of living continues to rise year after year, and we feel that pressure across every area of our operations — from groceries and transportation to medical care and school fees.

In addition to general inflation, Mexico’s minimum wage increased by 10% last year and again by 13% this year. As an organization committed to fairly compensating the staff who care for our children, these increases directly impact our payroll and our budget planning.

We have also been significantly affected by the drop in the US dollar and the Canadian dollar exchange rate. A large portion of our support comes from generous American and Canadian donors, and as the exchange rate shifts, the peso value of those contributions decreases — meaning the same gift goes less far than it did before. This has created a real and ongoing impact on our monthly cash flow.

Despite these pressures, we remain committed to every child in our home and to the team that serves them. There are three meaningful ways you can help:

Child Sponsorship — directly cover the needs of a specific child
Staff Sponsorship — help us retain and support the dedicated team caring for our children
General Budget Donations — fill the gaps where the need is greatest

We are grateful for the opportunities He has provided, the progress we have witnessed, and the individuals who faithfully support this ministry through prayer, service, and generosity. We recognize that every achievement, opportunity, and step forward is a reflection of His grace and guidance.

We humbly ask for your continued prayers for the educational development of the children and adolescents in our care. Many of them face unique challenges that can affect their learning, motivation, confidence, and academic progress. We pray that each child will continue to grow in knowledge, responsibility, perseverance, and a genuine desire to learn, developing the skills and character needed to build a successful future.

Please pray that they remain focused on their studies, cultivate healthy habits, and overcome obstacles that may hinder their academic growth. We ask that God grant them wisdom, discipline, and encouragement as they pursue their educational goals and make important decisions about their future.

We also request prayer for our educational support staff, caregivers, and all those who walk alongside the children in their academic journey. May they be equipped with patience, understanding, discernment, and the ability to provide the support and encouragement each child needs according to their individual circumstances.

Additionally, we pray for the resources necessary to continue providing quality educational support, including school supplies, technology, tutoring opportunities, transportation, and access to programs that enrich learning and help prepare the children for independent and productive lives.

Above all, we ask for prayer that every child and adolescent at Ministerios Ancla de Amor will come to understand their God-given value and potential, grow in confidence, and remain hopeful as they pursue the future that God has prepared for them.
